It doesn’t seem that long ago that I was typing out your Homebirth Story while you napped.  I blinked and you turned 6 months old.

You joined our family on October 20, 2010- 10 days past “due,” and entered the world in an inflatable tub in the bedroom.  I was shocked at how chubby you were, yet how much you resembled your brother.  Today you are a whopping 19 pounds.

You still resemble your brother but you kept your beautiful blue eyes and your “hair” is whitish blonde, much like my own when I was a baby.

You were a good sleeper from Day 1 and I can’t thank you enough for that.

You smile all the time and you love watching your brother play (and cry for some reason)

You are sitting, laughing, drooling, playing, trying to talk, and being an all around adorable little monster.  I can’t wait to see what kind of little guy you turn out to be and watch you play with your older brother.  I want to cry just thinking of how my newborn is already 6 months.  Honestly, where does the time go?

PS.  I won’t let you eat solids, I just won’t.  Stop trying to eat my food, only boobs for you until you start kindergarten.

Love,

Mom

  1. Awww! Congrats to the both of you on this milestone. Mine was born at a Midwifery Center 10/14/10. I would love a homebirth for my 2nd (and last) delivery in the future when that time comes. I’m on the same page with you in respects to solids. Boobies are the only thing on the menu. Everyone is asking me when I’m going to start solids, and I keep telling them that her first tooth will be a sign that she is ready for them. There is no rush.

  2. awwwe i feel the same way. its just crazy the time that flies by! so bittersweet and i totally agree with that comment about solids..lol its just too much growing too fast!

  7. Time does fly! I wasn’t able to have a home birth due to medical reasons but I was able to have a natural birth in the hospital this time with 2 midwives. My son was born Oct 8th- 10 days ‘late’ too- and he’s growing up too fast!
