Today was Fletcher’s first taste of solid food and my first attempt at making baby food.  We bought a Beaba baby Cook after reading all of the amazing reviews.  I knew I was going to make my own food and this seemed to be the easiest way for me to do so.  The price is steep (164.00 after tax) but it is worth it.  I don’t know if it recoups the cost through saving money on not buying glass jars of food but I don’t care.  Knowing what is going in my baby’s tummy is worth the cost and the trouble of making food.  So far I love the Beaba.  It was really simple and I can tell it will help me continue with making baby food.

After dicing the yam I put it in to steam. This takes 15 minutes.

I added 2 cubes of frozen breast milk. This amounts to slightly less than 1 oz.

Each cube holds 1 oz (I think) so one yam yielded 10 ounces.

  1. interesting food maker thingy. emerson was weirded out about food at first and even though she gets excited to eat each time, she still makes a “yucky” face the first few bites until she gets used to it.

i was going to comment on jm…but after 20 minutes of waiting to scroll down on your post, the site froze…which made my computer freeze and i figured i would just comment here instead!
